Hanne Hukkelberg is from Norway and she makes complex songs using sounds from typewriters and other everyday objects. Her album Rykestrasse 68 is out now.
We met at her label’s offices in Camden. It was very quiet.

Kate Nash is well on her path to becoming massive. Her single “Foundations” is out now and her debut album will be out soon.
Armed with a dictaphone, a banjo and an old Q&A book, we met with the lovely Miss Nash at an office in London. We were only given ten minutes.

Scroobius Pip is a jazz hip-hop poet from Stanford Le Hope. His single with Dan Le Sac, Thou Shalt Always Kill, has just reached the top 40 and the (rather cool) music video has been admired by hundreds of thousands on YouTube. We published two tracks by Mr Pip back in October 2006 and he also headlined the first Platforms:live gig in January.

Michael Runion used to have a beard, now he has an almost-finished record. We met with a jet-lagged Runion at The Strongroom in London, right after he played a very good set to a crowd of loud hipsters.

Richard Swift is is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and short film maker. His first two albums, The Novelist and Walking Without Effort both received great acclaim and his third album, Dressed Up for the Letdown is out 5th March on Polydor/Secretly Canadian records.

Johnny Flynn is an up and coming songwriter/actor/artist/genius from London. With the support of his band, The Sussex Wit, he makes exciting genre-defying music. His debut single Tickle Me Pink is out Feb 26th on Young and Lost records.
