Vince Laws is 46 and has lived in Brighton for 20 years. He's
sub-edited the local LGBT magazine, Gscene, for 6 or 7 years. In 2004
he published a poetry pamphlet called 'Beckham By the Balls'. He was
diagnosed HIV+ on his 43rd birthday, an event celebrated in the poem
'Diagnosed'. He is currently working on a 21st century queer Faust in
which an HIV+ man sells his soul to the Devil in return for perfect
health, the voice of a poet, and to die at his happiest moment. He has
also started producing visual representations of his poetry using
collage, print and paint. He lives with his heartner, artist Ole
Skauge, and Badger the dog.
