With her much anticipated debut album Pet Deaths near completion, Cate Le Bon has just released
her first double A-side single No One Can Drag Me Down/Disappear, with a free
download available from her website catelebon.com.
With a hauntingly captivating voice and melodies that swim around your head for weeks Cate Le Bon
is a gale force to be reckoned with. It's tempting to follow that by saying she'll blow you away
but that would be far too puntastic.
"Bobbie Gentry And Nico Fight Over A Casio Keyboard; Melody Wins!" Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals)
As if that wasn't enough to whet your musical whistle, not content with, in Cate's words,
"Fannyin' around with Folk", she has just recorded the vocals for a duet with Gruff Rhys
on his forthcoming concept album, NeonNeon with American electronic maestro Boom Bip to be released
this summer on Lex records.
Cate is 24 years old and was raised in the Wild West of Wales. She currently lives
in Cardiff playing as many gigs as possible whilst working in a bar whenever possible.
She drives a white astra estate called Sheila which sometimes leads to people mistaking her for
a builder or a PE teacher.
