Noah and The Whale

The story of Noah and the Whale starts in an end of 20th century workhouse deep in the sweatshops of West London. Charlie discovered music as screw tightener number 3 on the glockenspiel construction line. When he asked for another octave to be added to the instruments, he was cast asunder and found himself at the mercy of Paul Gadd and his unique trombone. Without brushing his teeth, Charlie ran away with his older and stronger brother Doug. They roamed the dancehalls of the era banging out respectable covers of early 90s garage, imitating the likes of the Artful Dodger on guitar and drums. One day in late 2006 they were rescued from this drudgery by a magnanimous and mysterious Oriental gentleman of fair complexion, tidy cuticles but unsettlingly large hands. It is not clear from the annals where they found Tom Fiddle. Although Charlie often tells a story of Soho, a doorway, a Bob Marley-print thong and a very cold young man performing instrumental Seal songs.
After a little trouble extricating themselves from the 2-step scene, it soon became clear that Charlie was heir to a great folk inheritance from a chaotic lineage including, among others, Will Oldham, Jens Lekman, Herman Düne, Jeffrey Lewis and Bob Dylan. They continue to play to this day.
